Are you like me and sometimes you are utterly amazed at the words and the heart of God? His goodness is aimed at both sinners and saints. Prostitutes can receive His goodness just as alcoholics can too! Lawyers, doctors, factory workers, stay-at-home moms and everyone else can also receive his goodness! No one is exempt!

God is good to rebellious teenagers just as He is to tax-evaders. Abortionists and sexual predators aren't exempt from the goodness of God too! What kind of God is this that is good to people that don't deserve it?

If God was only good to those that deserved it, neither you or I would be able to receive His kindness and goodness and everyone else would be eliminated too. I don't know about you, but I am forever grateful that receiving God's grace, mercy and goodness aren't based upon merit or performance. God's goodness is based on who HE is and not upon who you or I have chosen to be!

I certainly don't understand the unconditional love that God has for each and every one of us. I know that I'm certainly not wired that way. His need to share His goodness with all sinners is a direct reflection of God's eternal giving heart. There's nothing that we as sinners can even try to do to earn God's goodness. He gives, even when I don't deserve it!

Psalm 145:8-9 tells us that "The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; Slow to anger, and of great mercy. The LORD is good to all: And His tender mercies are over all his works." 

I'm just thankful for a good and gracious God that loves me and accepts me just as I am......as a sinner.
